Where can I park when visiting the Playhouse?
We don't have our own car park, but there are plenty of car parks close by. St Andrew's multi-storey car park off Duke Street, and Colegate pay-and-display car park are the nearest. Both are open 24 hours a day and are within just a couple of minutes' walk from the theatre. We also have two Blue Badge disabled parking spaces just outside the building Postcodes for Sat Nav St Andrew's Car Park: NR3 3AT Colegate Car Park: NR3 1BP
I am late for the show - can I still get in?
We regret, for some shows, latecomers may not be allowed into the auditorium until a suitable break in the performance. If you know you are going to be late please ring the Duty Show Manager on 01603 612 580 if possible so they will have a better chance of letting you into to the show whilst minimising the disruption to the audience.
Do you have a restaurant?
The Playhouse Bar serves a variety of drinks and snacks such as pastries, sandwiches, crisps and chocolate. However, we do not have a restaurant on site. If you would like a more substantial meal, there are lots of great restaurants and bistros on St George's Street, and around the corner on St Benedict's Street - some providing a pre-theatre dinner.
Can we take food or drinks into the show?
We allow drinks in re-sealable plastic bottles to be taken into the auditorium, and for some shows you can bring in your drinks from the bar, as long as they are in plastic cups. We ask you to refrain from eating while in the auditorium and galleries, but you are welcome to eat food in the other public areas of the building.
Can I hire the theatre - and how much does it cost?
The theatre is available for hire to community groups, schools and businesses for public or private performances, conferences, presentations and award ceremonies. We do not have any set hire costs, as we work out a bespoke package for each hirer which will include the necessary equipment, staff, technical assistance and marketing for your show or event. If you are interested in hiring Norwich Playhouse, please email email@example.com.
Can I use my e-cigarette in the auditorium?
We treat e-cigs like any other bit of electronic equipment. It can be distracting for fellow audience members and those on stage, as the light can be seen and the vapour can be unwelcome. We ask that you wait until the interval for your nicotine fix.
