HOW TO GET TO THE PLAYHOUSE

Car Parking: St Andrew's multi-storey and Colegate surface car parks are both within easy walking distance (see map above). They are open 24 hours. The theatre has flat access in front of the main doors and two disabled parking spaces adjacent. If you simply wish to drop off passengers you must approach the Playhouse from Colegate.

Public Transport: For bus times and routes, visit www.firstgroup.com. Our nearest bus stops are on St Andrew's Street and Bank Plain, and we are very close to the major bus stops on Castle Meadow. We are also situated about 15 minutes walk from Norwich Rail Station. For train times and fares, visit www.greateranglia.co.uk.

Coaches and Deliveries: The bridge on St George's Street is closed to traffic, and the road is pedestrianised. Vehicles can access the Playhouse via Colegate. We are able to unlock the bridge bollards and open the road for coaches and large delivery vehicles. If this service is required, please arrange in advance with the Playhouse. If you are driving a minibus or smaller van, please use the turning circle opposite the theatre.

SEEING A SHOW

Age Guidelines: These are displayed on each individual show page (where applicable). We regret that no unaccompanied children under 16 and no children under 3 are admitted into the auditorium unless otherwise stated for certain shows.

Show Length Guidelines: Please note that running times are all approximate. Please contact the Playhouse for the latest information if you have tight timings.

Latecomers: We regret that for some shows latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.

Phones and Cameras: Please ensure you switch off your mobile phone inside the auditorium. Tones and lights from phones can be extremely distracting for both performers and other audience members. No photography or sound recording of any kind is allowed during a performance.

Accessibility: Please click HERE to read about services offered for disabled patrons.

FOOD AND DRINK

Inside the Auditorium: Bar drinks may be taken into the auditorium in plastic glasses for certain shows. At other times please ensure drinks are in a re-sealable plastic bottle. Food cannot be eaten inside the auditorium or galleries, but you may eat food in other public areas of the building.

Interval Drinks: You can pre-order your interval drinks from the bar; these will be waiting for you in the foyer after the first half. Our bar can get extremely busy during intervals, so please do take advantage of this service.

Eating at the Playhouse: Although we do not have a restaurant in the theatre, the Playhouse Bar does serve a selection of snacks, including sandwiches, pastries, crisps and chocolate. You may bring your own food to eat in the Playroom off the foyer when purchasing drinks from the bar.
