Education at the Playhouse

We aim to ensure the Playhouse is a useful theatre resource for members of the local community. Making the most of our dynamic visiting companies, directors and theatre technicians, we will be developing more projects, workshops and resource materials for you in the coming seasons. We are excited about becoming an Arts Awards Welcome Venue and plan to offer young people access to a diverse range of theatre events and skills.

National Skills Academy        City College Norwich           

                           
We are also working closely with City College Norwich and the partner schools for the second year of supporting the Creative and Media Diplomas, and are delighted to have become a founder member of the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills.

Putting Creativity Centre Stage
City College Norwich has courses on offer in art and design, textiles, performing arts, graphic design, media, film studies, dance, acting, music, sculpture, fine art, musical theatre, back stage production arts, drama and theatre studies, music technology and photography, plus more - the full range of creative arts. You could have access to some of the best facilities available and you will be taught, in many cases, by practising artists. Courses range from Full-Time Introductory, First and National Diplomas, A Levels, work-based Apprenticeships, Foundation Art and Access to Higher Education, Foundation Degrees and community based part-time courses. We encourage the highest levels of creativity in all aspects of in order to prepare you for successful and rewarding careers in the creative industries. Time to explore more at www.ccn.ac.uk.

SPRINGBOARDS 2012

Tickets: £2 on the door

Now in its 12th successful year, this event gives drama students professional theatre experience as performers or technicians. Up to four schools each day rehearse and tech their own 30-minute devised productions and perform them on stage the same evening, with full support from Playhouse technicians.
