Bharatnatyam is a form of traditional, classical dance—originating in South Asia—characterised by its vibrant costumes, intricate rhythms, expressive narrative and spiritual themes.

Mythical legends, drawn from Hindu texts, spring to magical life in a sensory blast of interpretive dance; using spectacular footwork, body motion and a sophisticated vocabulary of eye, hand and facial gestures.

Vahana explores the symbolism and depiction of animals within this mythology, using the vocabulary of Bharatnatyam.
