Details of all our May-August shows are now on the website, with links to book tickets from the box office. We are thrilled to be staging the first production of new professional repertory company the Theatre Royal Actor's Company. David Mamet's ferocious yet hilarious play SEXUAL PERVERSITY IN CHICAGO will be on at the Playhouse from Tuesday 20 May to Saturday 24 May, at 8pm daily. The play follows the sexual exploits of Bernie, whose view of sex and relationships is so distorted that he begins to poison the view of those around him. Written in 1974 and set in a world where men were beginning to feel the threat of female independence, this play - like BBC TV's Life on Mars - reminds us where we were, and makes us ask if we're still there. Starring DAVID BRADLEY (Filch in the Harry Potter movies), new play THE QUIZ is a black comedy about an actor who obsesses about the idea of dying on stage, like Kean, Irving or Tommy Cooper - in between arguing with his stage manger and liberally swigging sherry. THE QUIZ boasts a selection of theatrical heavyweights in its creative team, from writer Richard Crane, former Dramatist in Residence at the National Theatre and winner of a record nine Edinburgh Fringe Firsts, to director David Giles, one time Director of the Hammersmith Lyric, whose TV credits include The Forsyte Saga and The Mayor of Casterbridge. Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 5 June, 8pm daily. For further details of these shows and many more, please see our What's On pages, or take a look at our new (blue!) brochure which is out now.
